Quality Monitoring Working Group (QMWG)

The Quality Monitoring Working Group (QMWG) manages the ATC Code of Practice. The ATC Code of Practice is intended to aid continuous improvement in the development of engine lubricants and the consistency and validity of their performance claims against the latest ACEA sequences. QMWG maintains close links with ATIEL, to ensure alignment between the ATC and the ATIEL Codes of Practice, and with ERC, to ensure that engine lubricants are tested and developed in line with EELQMS.

Objectives

  • Monitor performance of services supplied by TMC

  • Maintain ATC Code of Practice and Monitor Compliance

  • Bring new CEC tests into the Code

  • Liaise with CEC working groups on accreditation, referencing protocols and test monitoring

  • Maintain ACEA relationships and commitments, responding to concerns and clarifying the ATC Code of Practice

Key Recent Achievements

  • Published a new issue of the ATC Code of Practice in January 2024

  • Continued good communication with ATIEL via AA-CoPAG, resulting in alignment with the ATIEL Code of Practice issue 24

  • Introduced an ATC Code of Practice “Comments” facility on the European Registration Centre website to enable users to provide comments and feedback
